Celebrating Heritage

Empowering Women

 Shaping Leaders

About Miss Rodeo New York

Our History – Over 70 Years of Tradition and Empowerment

Founded in 1955 under the leadership of the International Rodeo Management (IRM), the Miss Rodeo America Pageant was created to establish a national representative for the sport of rodeo. From that proud legacy, Miss Rodeo New York (MRNY) emerged — a tradition that continues to honor the spirit of the American West while empowering young women to represent the rich rodeo heritage on a national stage.

For more than seven decades, the Miss Rodeo New York Pageant has been a celebration of confidence, character, and culture. It offers young women a platform to grow as ambassadors of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the broader western community.

Our mission is to educate, inspire, and empower — promoting the western way of life through public outreach about ranching, farming, agriculture, and the sport of rodeo.

Miss Rodeo New York symbolizes the strength and grace of women who embody professionalism, integrity, intelligence, and authenticity. As she travels across the Empire State, she shares not only her knowledge of agriculture and rodeo but also her passion for leadership, community, and tradition.

Our Purpose – Developing Role Models and Future Leaders

Each year, we proudly crown a Miss Rodeo New York Queen, Teen Queen, Little Miss, and Sweetheart — all serving as official ambassadors for rodeo and the western lifestyle.

Our goal is to support, guide, and mentor these young women as they represent their communities with confidence and grace. Through public speaking, community engagement, and personal development, they gain lifelong skills that prepare them for future leadership — both within and beyond the arena.

We are deeply committed to helping each titleholder grow into the best version of herself — a woman who leads with courage, speaks with purpose, and embodies the values of the western spirit.

Representing Rodeo and the Western Way of Life

As the First Lady of Rodeo in New York, Miss Rodeo New York serves as an ambassador for the sport, culture, and community that define the western tradition.

Her journey takes her far beyond the rodeo arena to:

  • Local schools and classrooms
  • County fairs and agricultural events
  • Community celebrations and charity

Through these experiences, she inspires others by promoting the values of dedication, perseverance, and service. Each appearance is an opportunity to build bridges between tradition and the next generation.

For Miss Rodeo New York and Miss Teen Rodeo New York, the experience is transformative — one that fosters personal growth, public speaking skills, self-confidence, and a lifelong commitment to representing something greater than themselves.
